The Reading Zone
The Reading Zone was set up last year in order to reflect not only my own passion for reading but to also promote the greater Wapping High family as a community of readers.
The Reading Zone was set up last year in order to reflect not only my own passion for reading but to also promote the greater Wapping High family as a community of readers.
Still, in its fledgeling stages, I have enjoyed seeing it grow over the last nine months and it is only going to get bigger and better as time goes by!
As well as classic titles (‘1984’, ‘Wuthering Heights’ and the complete ‘Harry Potter’ series), the Reading Zone also has cutting edge contemporary young adult fiction titles, such as ‘A Monster Calls’ and other exciting reads.
The Reading Zone is growing all of the time with new titles introduced as recently as June 2018. Also, I am currently in the process of branching it out in order to cater for revision materials with some of our former students kindly donating their revision books/guides.
Also, I am immensely proud that our Reading Zone is managed and run by a small group of dedicated librarians who are a part of the student body. Part of their responsibility is to keep an eye out for – and source – new titles for this ever-growing space.
We welcome any other kind donations from parents and friends of the school.
The Reading Zone is open to all students at the following times
