At the heart of our mission at Wapping High is to encourage our students to aspire, broaden their horizons and to work towards exciting futures. Today our Year 9 students began a project where they are learning about British law and met with top professionals from across careers in London. The most exciting aspect is that all the workshops are being led by high flying lawyers from a range of banks, companies and the Government Treasury. For example, one of the facilitators today, works with the Chancellor of the Exchequer and to hear him discussing civil and criminal law and managing a debate by our eloquent students was a delight.
As usual, our visitors commented on how impressed they were with our amazing WHS students who were able to speak with passion but to also listen, debate and reflect. All the Year 9 students are looking forward to the next workshops in this series and we are all very grateful to Mathilde at Young Citizens for bringing this project for the second year running to Wapping High. We are also super grateful to the lawyers for taking time out of their busy schedules to work with our students at Wapping High.
