International Relations

This term we were  delighted to host a visit from 30 Swiss students who attend École de Commerce Nicolas Bouvier school in Geneva. We began a partnership with the school earlier in the year when students exchanged letters. As they were on a trip to London, we were delighted to be able to host a visit and give them an opportunity to see our school and meet our students. After a very British breakfast and a welcome from Mr Nelson, the Swiss students took part in quizzes and round table discussions hosted by Year 9 and 10 students. The Swiss students learnt about the history of Whitechapel, London landmarks as seen from our rooftop, about Cockney rhyming slang and many other topics that we thought would interest them. After a bit of a hesitant start from all involved, students ended up deep in conversation and it was terrific to see students speaking in English and French and realising they had so much in common.

As usual, the Wapping students did us proud, showing warmth and courtesy to their

international visitors and we are delighted that they displayed such great maturity and resourcefulness.
